iPhone or iPad
Safari is required — Chrome and other browsers can't install PWAs on iOS
- Open progenyhub.com in Safari (not Chrome or Brave — Apple only allows Safari to install).
- Tap the Share button at the bottom of the screen — it looks like a square with an arrow pointing up.
- Scroll down in the share menu and tap Add to Home Screen.
- Tap Add in the top right to confirm.
- Find the Progeny Hub icon on your home screen and tap to open. It opens fullscreen, just like a downloaded app.

Works in Chrome, Brave, Edge, Firefox, and most other Android browsers
- Open progenyhub.com in your browser.
- Tap the three-dot menu in the top right.
- Tap Add to Home screen (or Install app, depending on browser).
- Confirm by tapping Add or Install.
- Find Progeny Hub on your home screen and tap to open. It runs fullscreen with its own icon, just like any other app.
💡 Tip: Chrome sometimes shows a banner at the bottom of the page saying "Add Progeny Hub to home screen" — if you see it, just tap that.

Desktop or laptop
Optional — Progeny Hub works great in any browser
On desktop, you don't really need to "install" anything — Progeny Hub works in any modern browser at progenyhub.com. But if you want it to feel more like an app:
- Chrome / Edge: Click the install icon (a small monitor with a down arrow) in the address bar, or open the menu and choose Install Progeny Hub.
- Safari on Mac: File menu → Add to Dock. (Requires macOS Sonoma or later.)
- Firefox: No native install, but you can pin the tab and bookmark it on your toolbar.
Common questions
Is this a 'real' app?+
It's a Progressive Web App, which means it runs from your home screen with its own icon and fullscreen view — just like an app from the App Store. The difference: you don't have to download it, and it updates automatically. Your data and login are the same as when you use Progeny Hub in your browser.
Will I lose my data if I install this way?+
No. Your account and all your vault data live on our servers. The home screen icon is just a shortcut into Progeny Hub. You can install on multiple devices and see the same vaults everywhere.
Why isn't Progeny Hub in the App Store?+
We're focused on building the best web experience first. A native App Store version is on our roadmap, but for now the home screen install gives you the same app-like feel.
Does this work offline?+
Most of Progeny Hub needs an internet connection (to load your vault content), but the app itself opens instantly even on a flaky connection. Future updates may add full offline mode for browsing recipes and photos you've already viewed.
